Greetings from the Naomi’s Joy Team!
Welcome to the New Year! 2020 promises to a year filled with great outcomes that will be accomplished from a place of rest. We feel God has encouraged us to keep building faithfully and He will do the adding.
Our Care Families have been doing an amazing job with limited resources this past season. Our shop sales seem to have plateaued and with rent increasing and basic costs it has left us short to be able to financially bless our families, which burdens our hearts. They do still have access to our shop as a resource center for all the babies clothing needs and goods (if they are available). Bearing in mind the basic costs just for nappies and formula are at least R 1 500.00 per month. Having said that, these families faithfully nurture these little souls, mostly at their own expense and they do it with joy.
Over the past 5 years 21 babies have been loved on by our organization and at present 5 are still in care, and in the process of being placed in their forever families, whether back to the biological family or through adoption.
Our shop continues to reap from our community a huge amount of donations, and we have been able to pay some forward this year into other projects involving needy children. We could not do this without our generous community. Thank you!
We did it! Viva accreditation is in the bag! The Quality Improvement Systems external audit, which we did with international auditors, won us great accolades regarding the administration of our organisation, and we could not be prouder. Team Joy has given their time, money, and love into accomplishing this, and I, as the chairperson/ founder, applaud you! I couldn’t have done this without you all!

Exciting new fundraising initiative. We were given a few thousand rand to start our Naomi’s Joy Clothing brand. Working alongside the Sewing Cafe, an entrepreneurial development project in Masiphumelele. We have our first 20 odd garments in our shop and we are busy working towards an online store and setting up a Payfast account.

Thanks to our models for their cooperation and to their mommy who took these beautiful photos.
We are also wanting to do a child protection drive on our beaches this December by offering free wrist bands that children can wear with their names and contact details, to prevent children being lost so easily. If you would like to contribute to any of our initiatives we would love that!
We would love to increase our care family network this year, our shop volunteer staff, our prayer team, our funding, our influence, as well as our membership base. If you would be interested in any of these areas, feel free to contact us. You could visit our website, facebook (see links below), or call Renee 0832983098 or Jane 0832542001. To donate to our bank account: Naomi’s Joy, FNB 62509453875.
May your year be full of great tidings of great joy.
Blessings,
Jane and the Naomi’s Joy Team
